Evolutionary Island Award
On August 8th, 2014 the Finca Hotel CAN ESTADES gave in the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival at the historic Teatro Principal for the first time the Evolutionary Island Award to Andreas Ewels, ZDF journalist, for his film "Adventure Mallorca". This award, which is endowed with € 500,--, was launched by us together with Sandra Seeling, to honour filmmakers, which take Mallorca as the principal subject in their narrative and documentary film. The criteria’s include presenting Mallorca in an innovative way while showing new sides of this beautiful island. We are looking forward to the submissions for 2015!
Season end concert on Wed. 1st October with Trio SONBOSSA
As our season final we present lively bossa nova with IVAN (trumpet), Sergio (guitar) and Jose Luis (percussion). Great music and brisk rhythms that invite you to join in and dance. English Movie PREMIERE "Adventure Mallorca" Director's Cut on Wed. 24th September
First time in English we proudly present the PREMIERE of the cinema movie “Adventure Mallorca” to the Mallorquin audience. Weather permitting the German director Andreas Ewels, a well-known ZDF-journalist focusing on animal and nature documentaries, will show his movie open air (indoor alternative) and will comment on the production, which took place in spring 2013. With spectacular scenes filmed with high tech equipment, i.e. a 10 m long unmanned zeppelin, he captured pictures of the island which you will not have seen in any production before.
You will find Sensitive shots of pure nature, rare animals and hidden secrets as well as underwater pictures and fascinating images from unusual perspectives. After the presentation there will be time for discussion with the director about the production. A liitle preview: http://vimeo.com/86425174
We invited some representatives of the tourism board and city of Calvia to emphasize the importance of such a movie to improve image of the wonderful island of Mallorca.

OpenAir Concert on Wed Sept. 3rd with WE R COMIN'!
After the brilliant concert with VINCENZO it will be more rocking again! The famous and popular band WE R COMIN '! with the frontman Phil Wolf plays for you groovy rock'n'roll from the 60s, 70s and 80s in the open air (weather permitting). It is party time and of course inevitable lot of fun!
Our Chef Michael prepares again to be popular tapas buffet and drinks, there are delicious.

Special concert on Wed. 20th of August with VINCENZO MARTINELLI
The brilliant guitarist flys in especially for one concert to Mallorca and presenting his excellent interpretations of classics and modern pieces on the guitar. There are sore beautiful pictures as impressions on the big screen.
He studied in Italy, the USA and Australia, among others Guitar, piano and percussion. After his stay on the island, he will again delight various crusaders with his art.
